Opportunity Brief Template

  • Opportunity – What problem does this feature or product address?
  • Customer/Market – Who is the proposed feature or product for?
  • Need or Desire – Why is this solution meaningful for the target customers/market?
  • Vision – How do we solve the problem?  What is the vision?
  • Estimated Value (ROI) – Describe the return on investment (ROI). Depending on the audience this could be a simple impact vs effort or a more sophisticated NPV/ECV.
  • Known Risks – Any known risks or challenges to be disclosed for an informed decision
  • Validation – What has been done to validate or “de-risk” the idea? (surveys, interviews, prototypes)
